Beer, Wine, & Liquor Consumption Yields Breathtaking Bottle Bricks!
So we've constructed, counted and packed a total of 301 bottle bricks of all shapes and sizes in just the past 3 weeks! Just for clarification's sake, that's 602 bottles that have been washed, cut, cleaned and duct taped together in preparation for our Earthship build this Spring. Because they are 8 inch glass bottle bricks, they will be used in inner/outer walls; mostly in our circular craft/play room in the open living space. We still have probably about 50 more bottles we will be turning into bottle bricks in the coming week or so but were so happy to have gotten such a head start on such a beautiful part of our project! Thanks so much to all of the family, friends and strangers (now friends, of course!) who have saved and donated bottles to our build. We are ceasing collection at this time until we assess our storage space on the land but will keep you posted when/if we start collecting again.
These bottle bricks will come into play at the Earth-Plastering & Bottle Wall Construction Workshop which is set to take place on Saturday, June 28, 2014 and Sunday, June 29, 2014. The cost is $35 and covers the cost of breakfast and lunch both days (meat and veggie friendly). Participants are more than welcome to camp out on the land that weekend but be sure to email me for more info. Sign up for this workshop here!
